The Story Behind Summit

A Texas Native With a Lifelong Connection to Movement

I was born and raised in Aledo, Texas, and some of the experiences that have shaped me most have happened outdoors.

I have always loved being active. Hiking, mountain climbing, rock climbing, skiing, camping, paddleboarding, traveling, and spending time on the water have all been important parts of my life.

There is something about reaching the top of a mountain after a difficult climb that puts things into perspective. You rarely reach the summit in one giant step. You get there through preparation, patience, persistence, and a lot of smaller steps along the way.

Over time, I realized I viewed health in much the same way. To me, being healthy is not simply about the absence of pain. It is about having the ability and confidence to participate in your own life.

Maybe your summit is climbing a mountain. Maybe it is getting back onto the golf course, finishing a workout, traveling without worrying about discomfort, keeping up with your children, picking up a grandchild, working comfortably, or simply getting through the day without constantly thinking about how your body feels.

Everyone's summit looks different.

That idea eventually became the inspiration behind Summit Spine & Wellness.

Education & Calling

Why I Chose
Chiropractic

From an early age, I was interested in science, movement, and how the human body works.

I knew I wanted a career where I could help people improve their health in a meaningful way, but I also wanted the opportunity to spend time with people, build relationships, and play an active role in helping them move forward.

Chiropractic brought those interests together. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Texas A&M University before completing my Doctor of Chiropractic degree at Parker University in Dallas.

What drew me to chiropractic was not simply the hands-on nature of the profession. It was the opportunity to combine movement, exercise, rehabilitation, education, and individualized care.

No two people walk into the office with exactly the same story. That is what keeps this work interesting.

More Than Five Years in Practice

Experience That Shaped the Way I Practice

After chiropractic school, I had the opportunity to work in different practice settings throughout the Dallas–Fort Worth area and Denver, Colorado.

Over more than five years in practice, I have worked with people from many different backgrounds and stages of life. That includes athletes, outdoor enthusiasts, busy professionals, parents, expecting mothers, families, people recovering from injuries, and older adults who simply want to stay active and independent.

I have also worked as both an associate chiropractor and clinic director. Those experiences taught me a great deal about chiropractic care, but some of the most important lessons had less to do with a particular technique.

I learned how much it matters for someone to feel heard. I saw patients who had felt rushed through appointments, left confused about their care, or pressured into treatment they did not fully understand.

I also saw the difference it can make when a patient feels heard and understands the plan in front of them.

Those experiences changed the way I wanted to practice.

Leadership Roles

Why I Created Summit Spine & Wellness

Throughout my career, I was fortunate to work in practices that helped shape me into the chiropractor I am today.

I learned from those experiences, but they also helped me understand exactly what I wanted to create when the time came to open my own clinic.

I wanted the freedom to slow things down and spend enough time understanding what someone was experiencing, how it was affecting their life, and what they hoped to accomplish.

I wanted patients to understand why I was recommending something instead of simply being told what to do. And I never wanted someone to feel like the goal was to fit them into a predetermined plan.

That vision became Summit Spine & Wellness in Colleyville.

This practice was built around the belief that healthcare should feel personal. You deserve honest answers, realistic expectations, and enough information to make informed decisions about your care.

My recommendations are based on what I genuinely believe is appropriate for you.

My Approach Starts With Listening

I do not believe every person needs the same care. Before I recommend anything, I want to understand your story.

What is bothering you, and how is it affecting your life?

What have you already tried?

What concerns or questions do you have?

What do you want to get back to doing?

Those answers help guide the conversation. If chiropractic care makes sense for you, I will explain why. If another service may be appropriate, we can discuss that too. And if I believe another healthcare professional would be better suited to help you, I will tell you.

Chiropractic is not the answer to every problem, and I do not believe it should be presented that way.

Being a good chiropractor means knowing when I may be able to help, recognizing when someone else may be a better fit, and being honest enough to explain the difference.

Personalized Tools, Not a Template

More Than Just Adjustments

Chiropractic adjustments are an important part of what I do, but they are not the only tool available. Depending on your needs, care may also include movement and exercise, active rehabilitation, soft tissue therapy, dry needling, spinal decompression, recovery services, massage therapy, and practical recommendations you can use outside the clinic.

The goal is not to use every service available. It is to choose the options that are appropriate for you.

I also want patients to understand their care. I believe education is an important part of good care.

You should leave an appointment with a clearer understanding of what I found, why something is being recommended, and what you can do to take an active role in your progress.

My goal is not to make someone dependent on the office.

It is to help patients feel more confident in how they move and better equipped to support their health outside the clinic.

Rooted in the Community

Why Colleyville?

When I began thinking about where Summit Spine & Wellness should call home, Colleyville felt like the right fit. It is a community centered around family, health, and quality of life.

It is also home to the wide range of people I enjoy working with: families, professionals, athletes, active adults, and older adults who want to keep doing the things they enjoy.

I do not want Summit to simply be located in Colleyville. I want it to become part of the community.

My goal is to build lasting relationships with patients, families, and other local professionals and create a practice people feel comfortable recommending to those they care about.

I want Summit Spine & Wellness to serve this community for years to come.

Beyond the Office

Outside the Clinic

When I am not working with patients, there is a good chance I am doing something active. Hiking, skiing, rock climbing, camping, paddleboarding, traveling, fitness, and spending time outdoors continue to be some of my favorite ways to recharge.

Those interests have shaped the way I think about health and movement. Movement gives us access to experiences and helps us participate in the parts of life that matter to us. It allows us to participate instead of watching from the sidelines.

But being active does not have to mean climbing mountains or competing in sports. Your version of an active life might be gardening, walking the dog, keeping up with your children or grandchildren, or simply being able to say yes when an opportunity comes along.

That is why I always want to know what matters to the person sitting in front of me.

A Place Where Everyone Is Welcome

Summit Spine & Wellness was created to be a welcoming place where people can feel comfortable asking questions and being themselves.

It does not matter where you are starting from, how active you are, how old you are, what your background is, or what your goals look like. You do not need to be an athlete. You do not need to already understand chiropractic. And you do not need to know exactly what kind of care you need before you schedule.

Come in, tell me what is going on, and we will start there. My job is to listen, help you understand your options, and give you an honest recommendation about the next step.
